Phil has worked for many years as an orchestrator, both for his own projects, and for various clients, including Cunard cruise ships (with ADL Music). He has worked with forces both large and small, as well as creating vocal arrangements for both adult and youth chorus’s.
Phil has done orchestrations for concerts of songs from many well known musicals, adapting them to suit a pre-determined orchestra size.
He is often also asked to let his creativity loose, and produce new re-worked versions of well known songs. He is equally happy producing purely vocal arrangements, as well as for orchestras of any size or creating backing tracks for singers to work with.
Here is a link to Phil’s medley where creativity was allowed to run total riot....! ‘History of Song’ - for the Finch Stage School (Where he is head of music and vocal tutor) which became the winning the performance at the 2013 Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge at the IndigO2.
For the same project, Phil produced this version of Beyonce’s ‘Ave Maria’. Here is a clip from his orchestral version of the song.

For Aladdin in 2011, Phil created several new versions of well known songs. Here are 3 examples... Elvis Presley's ‘Trouble’ turned into an villainous Egyptian number, 9 to 5 ‘mashed’ together with ‘car wash’ for Twankeys Hot Wash, and Bruno Mars ‘Billionaire’ given a dance workover as Aladdin receives his riches (listen out for Phil playing ‘cup and coins’!) and a grand Christmas tinged ending!

Phil co-produced,arranged, orchestrated and MD’d (from the keyboard!) ‘...and all that jazz...’ . Please see the shows demonstration video to see examples of his work on this mammoth project! |
